Sania-Bethanie loses quarter final at East West Bank Classic
[Mon Aug 13, 2007]Sania Mirza along with American partner Bethanie Mattek went down to the Australian-Czech pair Rennae Stubbs and Kveta Peschke in their quarter final run at USD 600,000 East West Bank Classic doubles event.
The second seeded Australian-Czech pair defeated Mirza-Mattek in two straight sets 7(2)-6, 6-4. The match was lasted in close to one and a half hours.
The first set was quite a tight affair between both the pairs. Both the pairs broke each other three times, but finally Stubbs and Peschke turned out as winner in the first set. Mirza-Mattek failed to take advantage of five break points in the second set and the match went into the hands of Stubbs and Peschke.
Sania has already out from singles and with doubles crash out ended her campaign at the East West Bank Classic.
