Sania enters third round of US Open
[Fri Aug 31, 2007]Sania Mirza entered third round of US Open by defeating the American Laura Granville in two sets 6-3, 7-5. To cross the hurdle, Sania had to fight for one hour and 22 minutes.
26th seeded Sania will next face to sixth seed Anna Chakvedatze of Russia in the third round. Chakvetadze is in good form this year. Chakvetadze has own four tournaments this year, three of them after beating Mirza. Chakvetadze defeated Sania in Stanford final, in the Cincinnati semifinal and also in the semifinals at Hobart.
"We passed each other in the corridor, and I said, 'I'm sick of meeting you every time!'" said Mirza with a laugh.
