Sania sticks to 27th position in WTA rankings

Despite having early exit from the US Open, Sania Mirza managed to hold on 27th position in WTA ranking for the third consecutive week.

Mirza currently is suffering from a wrist injury and is doubtful for her participation in Sunfeast Open WTA event. In doubles also Sania maintained to be at 18th position.

Sania has been drawn against US-based Sunitha Rao in the first round at Sunfeast Open.

Among other Indians, Mahesh Bhupati moved to 21st place in doubles. Meanwhile, Leander Paes sticks to 16th position in his doubles ranking.

However, Rohan Bopanna improved his doubles ranking by two places to be at 84th position. Bopanna also improved his ATP men's singles ranking by seven places to be at 245th position.
