Sania Mirza advances to second round of Aus. Open

Sania Mirza reached second round of Australian Open after defeating a wild card Ubzek player, Iroda Tulyaganova. Tulyaganova is ranked 317th in current WTA rankings, but was once a No.16 player in the world. Sania beat her in two straight sets 6-4, 6-2. Plenty of net games and minimized unforced errors clinched Sania to win the match.

For the second round, Mirza will take on to a Swiss qualifier Timia Bacsinszky. If Sania wins at second round, she will probably face to a six Grand Slam winner Venus Williams (USA) in third round.

For women's doubles, Mirza is teamed up with Alicia Molik of Australia. The duo is seeded 6th at Australian open. Mirza-Molik will face to Eleni Daniilidou and Jasmin Woehr of Germany for first round.
