Sania entered 3rd round to meet Venus at Aus. Open
[Thu Jan 17, 2008]Sania Mirza successively entered third round of year's first grand slam- Australian Open after beating a Swiss player Timea Bacsinszky. To beat her, Sania had to struggle for three sets. The match lasted for hour and 44 minutes.
In the first set, Sania took full advantage of Timea's unforced errors and aggressively won the set by 6-1. However, in the second set Timea fought back and won the set by 6-4. Three double faults by Sania in the second set, earned Timea to win the set over her. Both the players did 17 unforced errors.
However, in the resulting set, Sania hold her nerves back and won it by 7-5. In the third set, Sania played lot of net games as well as she minimized her unforced errors to win a match.
For the third round, Sania will face to multi-time grand slam winner, Venus Williams of USA.
