Sania becomes an inspiration for a film
[Wed May 21, 2008]

A debutante director, Hemant Das is making a film which is quite inspired by Indian tennis ace Sania Mirza. The film is supposed as based on life of Sania Mirza. However, the director says, "The film is definitely inspired by the life of Sania Mirza. But it's best to say that it is based on anybody who dreams of making it big and who chases the dream against all odds."

The film is named as 'I For India' and will be produced by Deepak R Gandhi (Managing Director of Umbrella Films) in collaboration with Los Angeles-based Distant Horizon Films. Gandhi also has recently done a 'Kuchh Khel Kuchh Masti'.

When the director Das was asked about is there similarities between the film and Sania's life? He said, "We are definitely not drawing up any biographical inspiration. However, there might be some character traits similar to Ms Mirza. It's a mix of fiction and reality."

The director is thinking of Esha Deol for the role. However a male star opposite to her is not yet decided.
