Sania-Chuang Reaches Quarterfinals of Miami Masters
[Tue Mar 31, 2009]Indian tennis ace, Sania Mirza who is teamed up with Chuang Chia-jung of Taiwan has reached the quarterfinals of doubles event at Miami Masters. To enter the quarterfinals the Indo-Taiwan pair defeated eighth seeded Russian-Italian pair of Maria Kirilenko and Flavia Pennetta in three sets 4-6 7-6 (5) 10-4.
Mirza-Chuang are unseeded at the tournament and will next take on to the winners between Spanish pair Anabel Medina Garrigues and Ruano Pascual and Argentine-Israeli pair of Gisela Dulko and Shahar Peer.
The other Indian who also is continuing his run at the event is Leander Paes, reached the pre-quarters of men's doubles along with Czech partner Lukas Dlouhy. However, Mahesh Bhupati paired with Mark Knowles of Bahamas ousted from the first round itself.
