Sania to meet Voskoboeva in the 1st round of French Open
[Mon May 25, 2009]Year's second grand slam French Open is starting from 24th May and Indian ace Sania Mirza will meet Voskoboeva in the first round of singles. Sania and Voskoboeva are ranked 91st and 95th on WTA charts respectively. Both of them have met only once earlier at San Diego hard court event in 2005, where Sania beat Voskoboeva.
If Sania crosses her first hurdle, for the second round she is likely to meet Svetlana Kuznetsova of Russia. Kuznetsova is seeded 7th at the event.
Last year Sania was not able to play in French Open due to wrist injury. Ever since Sania has started playing, she has never gone beyond second round of French Open. Also it's not favorite surface to play.
