Sania Ousted from French Open Singles, Mixed Doubles
[Tue Jun , 02:45:23]Sania Mirza made an early exit from French Open singles, as she went down to Galina Voskoboeva of Kazakhstan in two straight sets 4-6 6-7 (3) in the first round of the event. Doubles faults and unforced error made Sania to lose the match. She was also not able to convert any of four break points came in her way. However opponent Voskoboeva took advantage of the break point in first set and won the set.
Sania performed better in the second set stretching the game to tie breaker. But eventually Voskoboeva clinched the match in hour and a half. Clay was never been Sania's favourate surface. Sania never gone beyond second set at the Roland Garros event.
In mixed doubles, Sania Mirza along with compatriot Mahesh Bhupathi crashes out from the opening round. However in women's doubles event, Sania with Chinese Taipei partner Chia-Jung Chuang advanced to second round defeating Ipek Senoglu of Turkey and Yanina Wickmayer of Belarus in two sets 7-5, 6-1.
