Sania-Chia Exits From Women's Doubles At Wimbledon
[Mon Jun 29, 2009]Already out from singles event, Sania Mirza along with partner Taipei Chia-Jung Chuang is also ousted from doubles event at Wimbledon. Seeded 15th at the event, the Indo-Taipei pair went down to the unseeded Russian-Romanian pair Alla Kudryavtseva and Monica Niculescu in straight sets 2-6, 3-6 in the second round women's doubles event at the tournament.
Sania-Chia had as many as seven break points in their way, but was able to win only one which cost them to lose the match. In singles also Sania was ousted from second round going down to Sorana Cirstea.
Now the only hope remained from her at the grand slam is mixed doubles event which she is playing with compatriot Mahesh Bhupathi and is reached to the second round of it.
