Sania Gets Ready For Hard Court Events
[Mon Jul 20, 2009]Indian tennis star Sania Mirza is very optimistic about entering to the hard court season of the year even if not having enough preparations for it. After her regular training session in Hyderabad she spoke to media and admitted that she is confident enough to make a worthy performance at the upcoming hard court season including the next Grand Slam US Open.
Sania currently ranked No. 86 on the WTA charts. She took off from her homeland on July 16 for the season. Her schedule of upcoming tournaments is like Lexington Open, followed up by Stanford Cup, Vancouver, the Bronx and the big event U.S. Open.
"Definitely, I am feeling very comfortable hitting the ball as well as I can. If everything goes as per the plan, it should be a very interesting hardcourt season," said Sania.
She is much optimistic about her direct entry to US Open even if she knows that she had to go through qualifying rounds for other events before.
Happy to be back on court Sania said, "The important thing is that I am back where I really love to be – on a tennis court."
Now it would be more exciting for the tennis star to play after engagement and who knows her fiancé, Sohrab will also be there on the viewer seat to support her. On that note she added, "Apparently, when there is someone other than your parents to lend you all the support, it is feels great."
