Sania drops by two rungs in singles ranking

According to the latest update to WTA charts on Monday, Sania Mirza slips by two rungs down to 65th position in singles ranking. The last tournament she played was US Open, where she made to the second round of singles. However she didn't play any tournament for last week.

During last few months, participation of Indian men to the tennis circuit increased in the form of Somdev Devvarman, teenager Yuki Bhambri and Rohan Bopanna. Somdev climbed two places up to 131 position, Yuki at 415 position winning the debut Davis Cup match and Rohan is at 415th position earning 36 rungs.

However the veteran Indian tennis players, Mahesh Bhupathi and Leander Paes are stick to their men's doubles rankings to 6th and 8th position respectively.
