Mirza-Niculescu Loses at Cincinnati Quarterfinals

Indo-Romanian pair of Sania Mirza and Monica Niculescu went down 2-6, 5-7 to Victoria Azarenka of Belarus and Maria Kirikenko Russia in the doubles quarter final of USD 2,000,000 Western and Southern Financial Group Women's Open in Cincinnati on Saturday.

Mirza-Niculescu gave good fight in the second set, but ultimately Azarenka-Kirikenko won the match. To reach the quarters, the Indo-Romanian duo had defeated the Wimbledon champions Vania King of America and Yaroslava Shvedova of Kazakhstan in second round.

However, now the winning pair will take on to 2nd seeds Gisela Dulko of Argentina and Flavia Pennetta of Italy for semifinals.
